Weerlo

The name Weerlo is inspired by the bush curlew, a bird deeply connected to Country and known for its resilience, awareness, and protective nature. Just as the curlew watches over its environment, Weerlo embodies vigilance, strength, and respect in every aspect of our work.

For us, Weerlo is more than a name — it is a guiding principle. It represents our cultural roots, our responsibility to community, and our commitment to delivering projects with integrity and purpose while caring for the land and people.




Meet Our
Founder

Lorena Indich

Lorena Indich is the proud Indigenous founder and director of Weerlo, with with cultural ties to the southern Yamatji, Noongar Nations and Ngadju Group.Growing up in the Midwest in an agricultural farming and fishing family, her journey into business is rooted in a lifelong connection to Country and strong belief in the power of Indigenous leadership in the industry.

With over 15 years experience in mining operations, project delivery and 10 years in finance, Lorena has walked both the frontline and the boardroom. Her mining career began in remote Western Australia, where she saw firsthand the importance of safety, reliability and innovation in mining and industrial maintenance. These experiences shaped her vision for Weerlo to create a business that not only delivers high-quality, but also reflects the values of integrity, cultural pride and community empowerment.
